Facing the Giants

D and I finally got to watch the movie "Facing the Giants". (Thanks again Vickie!) It is a good movie and enjoyed watching it. One of the things that struck me in the movie was the saying..."leave it all on the field".

I had to think about that one. The movie is about a football team that hasn't had a winning season in a while. The teamcoach comes up with a new game plan. At one point he tells the players to "leave it all on the field...don't hold anything back...play with everything you have".

Of course that is how we are to play in the game of life...give God everything we have. Give God 100%...don't hold anything back. How different would our "game" of life be if we played and left everything on the field.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Is it too late to wish everyone a Happy New Year? The holidays got the best of me. (hehe) Sorry I don't have any pictures. We spent the evening with friends playing Wii. (Thanks Vickie!) I hope you have a good start to your year. It is a time for new beginnings...a new start. It has been a time for me to evaluate those things in my life. I quit making New Year's resolutions after someone pointed out that we can't resolve to do anything on our own. Recently, a friend reminded me about the verse in Lamentations (Lam 3:22-24) that talks about God's mercies are new every morning. We don't have to wait until the start of a new year, or new month, or even a new week. God gives us a fresh start every day...every time we come to Him in repentance. All He asks of me is that I follow Him in obedience. He will show me the way and even give me what I need to follow Him. How cool is that?!!!

I hope you start anew today!
